Generac Phase A Training Classes Being Offered by ASNE
ASNE's factory authorized trainer conducts Generac Phase A training classes throughout the year.  Scroll down to see a course description.

The classes are scheduled throughout the year at our Marlborough facility.

Details:

Phase A Class Description:

Generator Review: Brush type, brushless, PMG, voltage regulation, voltage codes, wiring, circuit breakers, shunt trip
Fuel System Fundamentals: Natural gas, liquid propane - vapor/ liquid, diesel
Governor Fundamentals: Mechanical & isochronus (electronic)
Transfer Switch Fundamentals: 100 - 2600 Amp, Y, W, WN style and associated controls
Remote Panels Fundamentals: Remote annunciators / remote relay panel
GenLink Fundamentals:  
Hands on adjustments & Calibrations:

Generator Controllers - C&E option control panels, R-100 & H-100 control panels, voltage regulator.
Transfer Switch Controllers - In-phase logic PCB, utility voltage sensing PCB, 7-day exerciser PCB.
Engine Functions - Electronic governors, mechanical governors, gaseous & diesel fuel systems.

Maintenance: Time frames, parts contracts
C panel, E panel, light commercial,
R-100 and H-100 digital controller
Operation, Schematics & wiring diagrams
Start - up inspection & forms: Perform a "walk through" start-up and fill out the appropriate forms.
Installation: Placement - distance, safety, noise, etc.
Fuel - Proper volume, pressure, piping, etc.
Wiring - Control, output, remote panels, battery charger, block heater, options
Sizing: Non-Linear Loads - The effects of non-linear loads and how to size the unit accordingly.
Motor Loads - The effects of "Motor Starting," "Locked Rotor amps", "SKVA" and how to size the unit to deal with this.
Standby/Prime Power Service CD: How when and why to use it.
Warranty: Policies & procedures, how to properly fill out a claim, what needs a control number?
Parts: How to use OIS/GpS. Where do you get your parts from? Scheduled maintenance kits.
Course Prerequisite: Satisfactory completion of "Pre-Qualification / Basic Electricity" Test.
